Belinda in Shibari
Belinda is someone I’ve known for many years, and the last time we shot, I was still a beginner, using a film camera I had borrowed from a friend. Of course, I still feel like a beginner.. and if I’m being honest, I kind of miss that old Yashicamat 124G twin-lens camera. Maybe one day I’ll pick up one for myself… but in the meantime, my beloved Leica will have to do.
Anyway, enough rambling about cameras. For this session we went with a shibari theme. Shibari is the Japanese art of rope bondage, which has been around for centuries. It started out as a set of techniques for binding and torturing prisoners, and over time became both a fetish and an art form. I’m less interested in the BDSM aspects of it, I mostly think it looks cool and I admire the craft that goes into making aesthetic knots and the way it highlights and re-shapes the female form. I started learning several years ago, and recently got back into the practice. This was my first time trying a Pentacle/Star harness, and the lower waist/arms tie was improvised, as were the following ties. Still a beginner, of course. If you want to see what the work of a true artist and master looks like, I can recommend no one above Hajime Kinoko, you will be amazed at his work.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy my session with Belinda.
